Ways to Forget About Your Ex

Everyone goes through heartbreak at least one time in their life. It’s one of those rites of passages that crosses a person into the adult world. You hear that there will always be other men (or women) out there, that there’s more fish in the sea or that your relationship was obviously not meant to be. However, what happens when you thought they were the one, that your relationship was meant to be? What do you do when the one that you thought you were to spend the rest of your life with ends up breaking your heart? How do you get over him or her and get back into the hunt for the next love of your life?
There are a few things you can do. The best thing you can do is talk to someone about your feelings. Whether it be a friend or a therapist, the best thing you can do is talk. Otherwise you will let the self doubt and negative feelings surrounding the break up overwhelm you and consume you. Regardless of why the relationship ended, somehow we inevitably turn it back onto ourselves and wonder what we did wrong. If you are all talked out though and just want to move on, sometimes you need to do that by getting closure with your ex. If there are unresolved issues or items of yours still left at their place, collect them so that you can separate yourself completely from your ex.
If you are looking for something to fill the time void that would otherwise have been filled with time spent with your ex, get a hobby. You can exercise, see movies or start a class at the local community college. Keeping yourself distracted and your time filled is a way that you can get over your ex.
