Nasty Divorces of the Stars

Show business, not surprisingly, boasts some of the roughest, meanest, and most expensive divorces. Maybe the reason is that they have very short and public courtships and engagements, followed by very quick marriages. Maybe it is because, along with their professional lives, their personal lives are also in the public eye. This must take a toll on a couple trying to build a life together.

Divorce can be extremely painful. Some of the nastiest divorces among celebrities are the following. These couples, though they once had loved each other, now only sling mud at one another. Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen, after being married for three and one-half years, filed for divorce in 2005. This was finalized in 2008. She did ask for an emergency court order to keep the kids from seeing Sheen, alleging that situations in his home could adversely affect the children. Heather Mills and Sir Paul McCartney were married a brief four years, with divorce in 2006. Mills complained that McCarthy was abusive and violent and a drug abuser, while his supporters responded with like insults towards her. The whole affair got very ugly before it was finally settled.

How can you cope with divorce? It really is the same whether you are a celebrity or just one of us regular people. The world as you knew it has been turned upside down. Don’t fight your feelings and realize that you will have good and bad days. Just relax and take one day at time.
