Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills McCartney’s divorce was not only ugly it was very costly. After Ms. Mills rejected a 30 million dollar settlement offer the scandal began. Although Paul McCartney had originally argued that Heather was not a gold digger, he changed his mind when the real fight for the money started. Paul filed for divorce first and then Heather counter filed but said she was not going to make public the details. Paul McCartney’s fortune is worth 1.5 billion dollars. Since there was no prenuptial agreement he was warned by his attorney that he could lose one-quarter of the 1.5 billion in the divorce settlement.

Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook began divorce proceedings after Cook’s infidelities with a 19 year old former employee of Cook’s. Dianna Bianchi, the third party in the scandal was indignant and threatened to file a lawsuit also. There was testimony heard from Brinkley’s daughter by singer Billy Joel that tugged at the juror’s hearts. Brinkley and Cook have one eight year old daughter. When they first got married, Cook adopted Brinkley’s 11 year old son by her third husband. All this complicated the divorce as there were custody factors involved and not just money.

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise were the perfect couple or so everyone thought. Apparently, Nicole was unaware there were problems until Tom filed for divorce. She pled with him as she was pregnant with their first biological child together, but the divorce proved too much for Kidman, and she miscarried the baby.
